Wireless Network Access Now Available in Most Campus Buildings!

IT is pleased to announce the availability of wireless networking at EMU! Wireless access is currently available throughout all classroom buildings, most administrative buildings and some residence halls. Wireless Networking is made possible through funding from the Information Technology Fee.

More detailed information about EMU's wireless network implementation is provided via the links on the top left of this page. The "Available Locations" link will be kept up to date with all wireless locations provided through this initiative. The "Future Locations" link provides a list of locations that are planned for wireless access during the coming months. The FAQ link provides answers to the most frequently asked questions about wireless at EMU, as well as information about where to find help with wireless access questions.

Wireless networking is a convenience technology, but does not fully replace the existing wired network infrastructure. In other words, wireless is a complimentary technology, not a replacement technology for our existing wired infrastructure. EMU departments or divisions interested in implementing a wireless network should contact IT for information about equipment approved for connection to the EMU enterprise data network, security review, and engineering assistance.
