Enterprise Applications Services TeamEnterprise Application Services (EAS) supports the core ERP and peripheral systems currently in use at Eastern Michigan University. In general, the support services provided include software upgrades, production problem trouble shooting and resolution, system administration, and application development activities. This Team coordinates with other entities in maintaining the security and integrity of institutional data in order to comply with regulatory requirements (i.e. FERPA). EAS is comprised of three teams of information technology professionals: Application and Process Services; Portal Support Services; and Database Services. Application and Process Services (APS)The APS Team provides primary production support for the Banner ERP system, participates in the Banner upgrade testing and implementation process, develops Banner enhancements and add-on capabilities, and creates interfaces between Banner and other internal and external systems. This Team implements, administers and supports the Banner ERP system Xtender document imaging product and is responisble for the development of Workflow applications as part of its business process analysis capabilities. Finally this Team provides report development, data extract, and mailing label creation services.Portal Support Services (PSS)The PSS Team provides system administration and development services for the Luminis Portal, the Banner Web4 self service functions, and the IT website. This Team is responsible for the installation, upgrading, and support of the Banner ERP system Xtender and Workflow middleware. Finally, this Team supports the Housing Occupancy Management and the Inquisite Web Survey applications. Database Services (DBS)The DBS Team provides "backroom" technical services related to our Oracle databases. These services include database clones and backups, consulting services to other IT Teams, Banner upgrade and patch research and implementation, and server and database performance monitoring and tuning.
