Services for StudentsNEW STUDENTS: take a look at the Getting Started Guide for information about technology on campus ranging from connecting to the internet to hooking up your television. What is "my.emich" and how do I access it? my.emich is the EMU portal to web services. Activation of your my.emich account creates your e-mail account, provides you a private, personal calendar, gives you information about your classes, allows you to register for classes, check your transcript, pay your bill, update your personal information, and many other services. Where can I find a computer? IT Computer labs provide convenient locations where students may access basic end-user applications in order to fulfill their academic needs. Labs are located in Halle Library, the Student Center, Pray-Harrold and Owen. Where can I learn about using computers? IT provides training both online (etraining.emich.edu) and through workshops (ict.emich.edu/training/) to help you get the most from EMU computing facilities. I have a computer. How do I connect to EMU? On campus, Ethernet connections are provided in the residence halls. More information is available at the ResNet web site. The EMU Wireless network is also available in most locations on campus. Where can I buy a computer? The Computer Store in the Student Center sells computers, peripherals and software. With your student ID, you qualify for significant academic discounts on most items. How do I create a web page? Go to people.emich.edu. With your my.emich account name and password, you can create personal web pages or pages for a class. |
