What is Ad-Aware?

Ad-Aware is one of many spyware / adware / malware removal tools for Windows. It is rated as one of the best tools out there. EMU recommends all residents install and run Ad-Aware on a regular and frequent basis.

Ok, What's it cost?

While there is a retail version available, Lavasoft has made a free version available for personal use (Ad-Aware Personal). This means that if you as a student install it on your personal machine you don't have to pay a thing.

The retail version does have some very nice features and if you think that they will help you feel free to purchase a retail version from Lavasoft.

Why do you recommend more than just Ad-Aware?

Unfortunately in this day and age there are lots of threats to your computer out on the web. Ad-Aware catches many of the adware, spyware, and malware programs, but it doesn't catch everything. Using multiple tools together will help keep your computer safe while connected to the Internet.
